Blush Hybrid Onion
Growing Blush Hybrid Onion
‘Blush’ is a hybrid long-day onion prized for its beautiful coloring, uniform bulbs, and sweet yet gently pungent flavor. A cross between red and yellow onions, it produces globe-shaped bulbs with smooth rose-pink to champagne-colored skins and firm white flesh accented by soft pink rings.
Start ‘Blush’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 4 to 6 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This cold-tolerant variety is also well suited to containers.
Ready to harvest in about 110 days, lift bulbs once they reach full size and maturity and allow them to cure as appropriate for their intended use.
Sweet, colorful, and versatile, ‘Blush’ is excellent for fresh slicing, salads, sandwiches, light cooking, and market displays.
