Growing Information

Growing Pink Delicious Hybrid Beefsteak Tomato

‘Pink Delicious’ is a hybrid beefsteak tomato prized for its rose-pink color and heirloom-style flavor. Smooth 10- to 12-ounce fruits contain firm, meaty flesh with an appealing sweet-tart balance and excellent crack resistance.

Start ‘Pink Delicious’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 12 to 14 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Vigorous indeterminate plants are well suited to containers and are noted for disease resistance.

Ready to harvest in about 74 days, pick fruits once they reach full size and develop their mature rose-pink color.

Sweet-tart, meaty, and versatile, ‘Pink Delicious’ is excellent for slicing, salads, sandwiches, and canning.

Massive and delicious like the name says

This plant grew massive pink monsters. Over 1 lb was the average. Great flavor. It's replacing all my pink tomatoes next year.

It might be a great tomato...too early to tell.

It might be a great tomato...too early to tell. However, it is not a good seed. Only 2 of 10 germinated for me. All planted in starter mix with a vermiculite cap in a properly controlled environment. The other 5 strains I planted germinated at about 70%+. It will have to produce one hella good tomato to ever consider this one again.

Pink delicious

From start to finish this tomato rang all the bells. Heat, drought , bugs and disease had no effect on great yields,
The tomatos were rich, big and well formed. keep up the good work. Alan

Great Tomato!

I tried 2 of the Pink Delicious in my garden last year. What a great surprise. I had Celebrity, Red Snapper, Goliath, Cherokee Purple, and Rutgers. Pink Delicious was the clear winner for taste. Lasted and produced until frost in November. Really good disease tolerance and I am planting them again this year.
