Green Beret Hybrid Spinach
Growing Green Beret Hybrid Spinach
‘Green Beret’ is a hybrid spinach prized for its dark green foliage, versatility, and strong resistance to downy mildew. Semi-savoyed leaves can be harvested young for baby spinach or allowed to develop into substantial full-size greens.
Start ‘Green Beret’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ½ inch deep, space plants 1 to 3 inches apart, and grow in full sun. This cold-tolerant variety is also well suited to containers.
Ready to harvest in about 30 days, pick leaves at the size you prefer, taking younger growth for the most tender texture.
Fresh, nutritious, and versatile, ‘Green Beret’ is excellent for baby greens, salads, sautéing, and everyday cooking.
