Growing Information

Growing Supersonic Hybrid Tomato

‘Supersonic’ is a dependable hybrid tomato prized for its large, well-flavored fruits, smooth texture, and excellent crack resistance. A slightly later sister to ‘Jet Star,’ it produces attractive, somewhat flattened tomatoes weighing about 8 to 12 ounces on vigorous indeterminate plants.

Start ‘Supersonic’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Plants reach about 3 to 5 feet tall and benefit from staking or caging as the vines develop.

Ready to harvest in about 75 days, ‘Supersonic’ produces smooth, crack-resistant fruits with dependable size and quality throughout the season. Plants offer resistance to Fusarium Wilt Race 2 and Verticillium Wilt.

Meaty, flavorful, and versatile, ‘Supersonic’ is excellent for slicing, sandwiches, salads, and fresh eating.
