Growing Just Right Hybrid Turnip
‘Just Right’ is an award-winning hybrid turnip and 1960 All-America Selections Winner prized for maintaining excellent quality even at unusually large sizes. Unlike many turnips, it is designed for summer or fall sowing and stores exceptionally well.
Sow ‘Just Right’ directly in the garden about ½ inch deep, space plants 4 to 6 inches apart, and grow in full sun. This cold-tolerant variety performs especially well as a fall crop.
Ready to harvest in about 70 days, pull roots once they reach the size you prefer while maintaining their good texture and quality.
Hearty, dependable, and long keeping, ‘Just Right’ is excellent for soups, everyday cooking, and storage.
