Jackson Wonder Bush Heirloom Lima Bean
Growing Jackson Wonder Bush Heirloom Lima Bean
‘Jackson Wonder’ is an early, heat-tolerant lima bean prized for its distinctive speckled seeds, dependable pod set, and sweet, flavorful beans. Often called the South’s “colored butterbean,” it produces light- to dark-brown seeds with contrasting speckles and performs especially well during hot weather.
Plants grow about 2 to 3 feet tall with a semi-vining bush habit that does not require staking. Six-inch pods develop abundantly on productive plants, each holding about 3 to 5 beans.
Ready to harvest in about 60 days, ‘Jackson Wonder’ matures as early as ‘Henderson’s’ while continuing to set pods reliably in warm Southern conditions.
Sweet, flavorful, and versatile, ‘Jackson Wonder’ is excellent for fresh shelling and is especially well suited for drying and storing for winter use.
