Growing Mini Love Personal Hybrid Watermelon
‘Mini Love Personal’ is an award-winning hybrid watermelon and 2017 All-America Selections Winner prized for its personal-size fruits and semi-seedless eating quality. Deep red flesh is exceptionally sweet, while the thin but strong rind resists cracking and splitting.
Start ‘Mini Love Personal’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ½ to 1 inch deep, space plants about 18 inches apart, and grow in full sun. For best sowing, orient each seed with the pointed end facing down. Short vines are well suited to containers and smaller gardens and are noted for disease resistance.
Ready to harvest in about 80 days, pick fruits once they are fully mature and the deep red flesh has reached peak sweetness.
Sweet, compact, and convenient, ‘Mini Love Personal’ is excellent for fresh eating.

This was the first melon that I was successful in growing from beginning to end. The small icebox size is perfect for personal sized servings. I have already started my succession planting. I would definitely suggest planting several of the included pollinator seeds for a successful pollination

I've grown these the past two years, and they produce lots of melons. They taste so good and are just the right size!

Last year was the third year I've grown this melon. The first time I saw this melon was in 2019. Melons in Southeast Wisconsin are generally difficult to grow, but Mini Love melons do very well. I start my melons a month before they go out in the garden. I use manure pots (Cow Pots) and transplant the whole pot in the ground around Memorial Day or a little later. Last year I planted two hills each with 4-5 plants per hill. That works great. I got the first melon at the end of July and ended up with around 15 melons. When the tendril next to the watermelon stem turns brown and the underside turns yellow the melon is ripe.

I love watermelon, and finding a sweet one, or one with any flavor at all at the supermarket is just about impossible. Decided to grow my own. Chose the Mini Love and so happy I did. These are soooo sweet and refreshing. Unfortunately, only grew one plant this season. Big mistake! Am already out of them for the season . Am planning on at least 3-5 plants next year! They are very easy to grow too. I grew mine vertically.
