Niagara Grape Plants

‘Niagara’ is a classic white grape variety prized for its sweet, aromatic flavor, dependable production, and cold-hardiness. Developed in the late 1800s from a cross between ‘Concord’ and ‘Cassady,’ it produces large clusters of golden-white grapes with a rich, distinctive flavor.

Plant ‘Niagara’ in full sun, spacing vines about 6 to 8 feet apart with 8 to 10 feet between rows. Choose well-drained soil and provide a sturdy trellis, arbor, or fence for support. Water regularly while vines are establishing, fertilize lightly in early spring, and prune annually in late winter to encourage strong new canes and productive fruiting wood.

Best suited to USDA Zones 5–8, ‘Niagara’ is vigorous, high yielding, cold-hardy, and disease-resistant. It is self-pollinating, so only one plant is needed for fruit production. Remove any fruit during the first year to allow the plant to focus on establishing a strong root system.
