Climax Rabbiteye Southern Blueberry Plants
The Climax Blueberry is an early-ripening Rabbiteye variety known for its exceptional sweetness, heavy yields, and heat tolerance. This reliable Southern favorite produces clusters of medium-sized berries that ripen together — making it perfect for easy, one-time harvesting.
A vigorous, upright grower, Climax thrives in USDA Zones 7–9, where it delivers abundant crops of firm, flavorful berries ideal for fresh eating, baking, and freezing. With its outstanding productivity and adaptability to warm climates, Climax is a top choice for home gardeners and small farms throughout the South.
1-Year vs. 2-Year Plants
Both options are healthy, nursery-grown stock — the difference lies in their size and how quickly they’ll establish and begin fruiting:
- 1-Year Plants (9–15") – Smaller, younger plants ideal for long-term growth. They’ll focus on root development during their first season, leading to vigorous production in later years.
- 2-Year Plants (16–24") – Larger and more mature, ready to establish quickly. These plants often produce a light crop the following season and reach full productivity sooner.
