Growing Caroline Everbearing Raspberry Plants

‘Caroline’ is a premium everbearing raspberry variety prized for its exceptional flavor, rich aroma, and high productivity. A descendant of ‘Heritage,’ it produces extra-large, deep red berries with excellent sweetness and the classic raspberry flavor gardeners expect from a top-performing variety.

Plant ‘Caroline’ raspberries in full sun, spacing canes about 2 to 3 feet apart in rows 6 to 8 feet apart. Choose rich, well-drained soil with a pH of about 6.0 to 6.8, keep the soil evenly moist while plants establish, and apply mulch to help conserve moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize lightly in early spring and again after harvest to support healthy growth and continued production.

As an everbearing variety, ‘Caroline’ produces two crops each year—a lighter summer harvest on older canes and a heavier fall harvest on new growth. Vigorous, disease-resistant plants are best suited to USDA Zones 4–9. Remove spent canes after fruiting to encourage healthy new growth and reliable future harvests.

Large, sweet, and aromatic, ‘Caroline’ raspberries are excellent for fresh eating, freezing, preserves, desserts, and other kitchen uses. Its combination of outstanding flavor, extended production, and dependable performance makes it a strong choice for both home gardens and market growing.

10/10 spreading like crazy

These have exceeded expectations. Received my five canes the beginning of 2026. Now it’s June and they are spreading like wildfire. It wouldn’t not be an exaggeration to say I have 20-30 new canes popping up. They have giving me one good flush of berries already and are loaded again. They taste wonderful. Nice and juicy and sweet. In north Florida panhandle zone 9a. I highly recommend these!

2/5 plants are doing well

3/5 plants broke dormancy but only 2/5 are doing well. Both plants that survived are producing a small amount of berries even, which is super excitinf! But the survivability of these plants was disappointing.
