2017 AAS Winner. Not ‘seedless’ but not ‘conventional seeded’ either. Somewhere between ‘seedless’ varieties with the ease and convenience of no seeds – but varieties that are difficult to germinate – and conventional varieties, which are easy to grow – but give you a mouthful of seeds with every bite. This new ‘semi-seedless’ variety has only a few seeds, but super-sweet, tasty, deep red flesh inside a thin but strong rind that is crack and split resistant. Perfect for smaller families and smaller gardens, with shorter vines that still produce up to 6 fruits per plant with beautiful, striped, shiny skins. Not prone to powdery mildew.

Know to grow — When sowing, place the pointed end of the seed down.

Delicious!

I've grown these the past two years, and they produce lots of melons. They taste so good and are just the right size!

Excellent Watermelon

Last year was the third year I've grown this melon. The first time I saw this melon was in 2019. Melons in Southeast Wisconsin are generally difficult to grow, but Mini Love melons do very well. I start my melons a month before they go out in the garden. I use manure pots (Cow Pots) and transplant the whole pot in the ground around Memorial Day or a little later. Last year I planted two hills each with 4-5 plants per hill. That works great. I got the first melon at the end of July and ended up with around 15 melons. When the tendril next to the watermelon stem turns brown and the underside turns yellow the melon is ripe.

Delish!

I love watermelon, and finding a sweet one, or one with any flavor at all at the supermarket is just about impossible. Decided to grow my own. Chose the Mini Love and so happy I did. These are soooo sweet and refreshing. Unfortunately, only grew one plant this season. Big mistake! Am already out of them for the season . Am planning on at least 3-5 plants next year! They are very easy to grow too. I grew mine vertically.
