Red Brandywine Tomato
Growing Red Brandywine Tomato
‘Red Brandywine’ is a cherished heirloom tomato prized for its balanced old-fashioned flavor and substantial fruits. Deep red tomatoes commonly reach 12 ounces or more and contain smooth, firm, meaty flesh with an appealing mixture of sweetness and acidity.
Start ‘Red Brandywine’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Vigorous potato-leaf plants are heat tolerant and productive.
Ready to harvest in about 90 days, pick fruits once they reach full size and deep red maturity.
Rich, balanced, and meaty, ‘Red Brandywine’ is excellent for fresh eating, slicing, salads, sandwiches, and canning.
