Rosemary
Growing Rosemary
Rosemary is a highly aromatic evergreen herb prized for its pine-scented, needle-like foliage and bold savory flavor. Its distinctive aroma and sturdy growth make it a valuable culinary herb as well as an attractive addition to sunny containers and herb gardens.
Start Rosemary indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about β inch deep and space plants 12 to 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Germination can be erratic, but established plants offer excellent heat and drought tolerance and perform well in containers.
Ready to begin harvesting in about 90 days, cut fresh sprigs as needed once plants are established.
Fragrant, savory, and versatile, Rosemary is excellent with pork, lamb, poultry, fish, soups, salads, roasted vegetables, and dried seasoning blends.
Erratic germination, about 30%
