Soraya Sunflower
Growing Soraya Sunflower
‘Soraya’ is an award-winning open-pollinated sunflower and 2000 All-America Selections Winner prized for its rich orange blooms, prolific branching, and exceptional versatility. Large flowers feature vivid orange petals surrounding dark brown centers, while a single plant can produce up to 20 sturdy stems without requiring staking.
Plant ‘Soraya’ seeds about 1 inch deep and space plants 12 to 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Germination typically takes 7 to 10 days. This variety is also well suited to large containers.
Ready to bloom in about 75 days, enjoy the flowers as they open and reach their best display stage. The abundance of strong stems provides plenty of impressive blooms for fresh arrangements.
Bright, productive, and versatile, ‘Soraya’ is an excellent choice for ornamental beds, large containers, cut flower gardens, and pollinator-friendly plantings.
