Growing Information

Growing Queeny Red Lime Zinnia

‘Queeny Red Lime’ is an open-pollinated zinnia prized for its extraordinary antique coloring, large double blooms, and sturdy cut-flower stems. Petals transition from smoky dark rose near the base to lime green around the center, with shades of antique rose, pink, and chartreuse blending beautifully in between.

Plant ‘Queeny Red Lime’ seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 9 to 12 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Germination typically takes 3 to 7 days. This heat- and drought-tolerant variety performs especially well during warm summer conditions.

Ready to bloom in about 70 days, enjoy the flowers as they open and reach their best display stage. Long, sturdy stems make the mostly fully double flowers especially valuable for fresh arrangements.

Unique, sophisticated, and eye-catching, ‘Queeny Red Lime’ is an excellent choice for ornamental beds, borders, cut flower gardens, bouquets, and pollinator-friendly plantings.

All lime, no red (pink)

These germinated well and grew well, but none of mine had even a hint of red. The lime green color matched the stems and therefor were not at all interesting to look at.
