Growing Information

Growing Oklahoma Formula Mix Zinnia

‘Oklahoma Formula Mix’ is an open-pollinated zinnia blend prized for its abundant double blooms, exceptional vase life, and dependable garden performance. Flowers appear in shades of yellow, pink, scarlet, salmon, and white, while the plants show reduced susceptibility to powdery mildew and produce a continuous supply of colorful stems.

Plant ‘Oklahoma Formula Mix’ seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 9 to 12 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Germination typically takes 3 to 7 days. This heat- and drought-tolerant variety performs especially well during warm summer conditions.

Ready to bloom in about 70 days, enjoy the flowers as they open and reach their best display stage. Its cut-and-come-again habit means regular harvesting encourages even more blooms, making it especially valuable for late-summer arrangements.

Colorful, productive, and long lasting, ‘Oklahoma Formula Mix’ is an excellent choice for ornamental beds, borders, cut flower gardens, bouquets, and pollinator-friendly plantings.

1st time growing this variety for powdery mildew resistance. Not satisfied with flowers size of quarters and very short stem to flower length. Not good for long cut flowers . Going back to giant and deal with powdery mildew!!!
