Growing Information

Growing Zesty Mesclun Mix

‘Zesty Mesclun Mix’ is an heirloom salad blend prized for its lively flavor and varied mix of tender greens. A combination of lettuces and more pungent greens such as arugula creates a colorful harvest with an appealing spicy kick.

Start ‘Zesty Mesclun Mix’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ⅛ inch deep and space plants 4 to 16 inches apart. Grow in full sun to partial shade. This cold-tolerant blend performs especially well during cooler growing conditions.

Ready to harvest in about 45 days, cut young leaves at the size you prefer for the most tender texture and freshest flavor.

Fresh, tangy, and flavorful, ‘Zesty Mesclun Mix’ is excellent for salads, sandwiches, wraps, and mixed greens.

Germinated well

The seeds germinated in about 3 days (inside in warmth). That was about 4 weeks ago. I'm planting them out tomorrow as part of my fall salad crop. Quite satisfied. Picture was taken after dark, but you can see how vigorous the plants are.
