Iceberg Heirloom Lettuce
Growing Iceberg Heirloom Lettuce
‘Iceberg’ is a classic heirloom lettuce prized for its crisp texture, tightly formed heads, and refreshing mild flavor. Light-green, crinkled outer foliage surrounds nearly white inner leaves, creating the familiar crunchy head lettuce long favored for fresh eating.
Start ‘Iceberg’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ⅛ inch deep and space plants about 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun to partial shade. This cold-tolerant variety is also well suited to containers.
Ready to harvest in about 78 days, cut heads once they feel firm and have reached the desired size.
Crisp, refreshing, and classic, ‘Iceberg’ is excellent for salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and fresh eating.
