Growing Information

Growing Baby Leaf Mix Lettuce

‘Baby Leaf Mix’ is an heirloom lettuce blend prized for its colorful assortment of tender leaves and easy cut-and-come-again harvest. The mix combines green and red oakleaf lettuces with red and green romaines for a varied blend of colors, shapes, and textures.

Plant ‘Baby Leaf Mix’ seeds about ⅛ inch deep and space plants 8 to 10 inches apart. Grow in full sun to partial shade. Germination typically takes 2 to 10 days. This cold-tolerant blend is also well suited to containers.

Ready to harvest in about 35 days, cut young leaves at the desired height and allow plants to regrow for additional harvests.

Tender, colorful, and convenient, ‘Baby Leaf Mix’ is excellent for fresh eating, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and mixed greens.

Wonderful and delicious lettuce

A very prolific lettuce with high yields and very colorful and tasty! Does not bolt and likes cool days but will grow fast when it gets warm. Plant early as possible because it will yield well. Will try it this late summer/fall for a second crop. Will review again after the fall
