Growing King of the Garden Pole Heirloom Lima Bean
‘King of the Garden’ Pole Lima Bean is a vigorous, highly productive heirloom variety known for its large white beans and rich, honey-like flavor. Dark green pods typically contain 4 to 6 plump beans that shell easily and cook to a tender, creamy texture.
Sow ‘King of the Garden’ directly in the garden after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. The vigorous climbing vines require a sturdy trellis, fence, or other support and continue producing throughout the warm growing season.
Harvest the pods once the beans inside are plump and fully developed but still tender. Pick regularly to encourage continued production and keep the plants bearing until frost.
