Sweet Success Hybrid Burpless Cucumber
Growing Sweet Success Hybrid Burpless Cucumber
‘Sweet Success’ is an award-winning hybrid cucumber and 1983 All-America Selections Winner prized for its extra-long fruits, remarkably sweet flavor, and smooth, tender texture. One of the first seedless, burpless cucumbers, it produces straight, medium dark-green fruits with rounded blossom ends and excellent eating quality. Vigorous, disease-resistant vines make this variety a dependable choice for both home gardeners and market growers.
Start ‘Sweet Success’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly in the garden about ½ inch deep. Space plants about 12 inches apart and grow in full sun. This variety is noted for strong disease resistance and performs best when supported on a trellis or other sturdy structure.
Ready to harvest in about 56 days, begin picking the fruits once they reach a usable size while they are still firm, crisp, and tender. Harvest regularly to encourage continued production and maintain the best texture and flavor.
Sweet, crisp, and refreshing, ‘Sweet Success’ is excellent for fresh eating, slicing, salads, sandwiches, and snacking.
