BoPak Pak Choi Hybrid
Growing BoPak Pak Choi Hybrid
‘BoPak’ Pak Choi Hybrid is an upright, compact Asian green that fits well in garden beds, small-space gardens, and patio containers. A 2015 AAS Winner and the first Asian green to receive the award, ‘BoPak’ produces glossy green leaves with crisp white stems and a mild flavor that falls somewhere between cabbage and chard.
‘BoPak’ is especially useful for gardeners who want a longer harvest window, since the plants are able to tolerate warmer weather better than many similar greens. For a steady supply throughout the season, sow another planting about every two weeks rather than planting your entire crop at once.
Harvest the tender green leaves and sweet, crunchy stalks as they reach the size you prefer. Successive sowings make it easy to keep fresh Pak Choi available for stir-fries, salads, soups, braising, and other garden-to-table meals.
Because the plants stay relatively compact and upright, ‘BoPak’ is a practical choice when garden space is limited. Regular planting and harvesting can provide multiple rounds of fresh greens throughout the growing season.
