Smooth Criminal Hybrid Summer Squash Seeds

This is my 2nd year to plant this squash, didn't do very well last year with the squash bugs but this year it is just beautiful! I actually have it planted in a raised perennial bed. I staked it but it vined over the low wall and has produced heavily with no problems. The skin is tender and the taste is sweet and nutty. Delicious. I have grilled, sautéed, baked, fried and used it for squash relish. Hope to always have this in my garden.

Well I bought these because I was having problems with my previous squash shading out the fruit and plants developing mold. I planted these in tomato cages and for the ones that I trained early on they grew upright with the fruit much easier to pick. If you don't train them early then they break to easily so you can't keep in cage. It is nice not to have to get on ground to pick the fruit. I thought the fruits skin was a little tougher than my previous crookneck but not tremendously. In my opinion they are a little sweeter than my previous ones. The verdict is still out if it does away with the mold or not. I think it will because I have not been noticing it in Mid-August. Even if mold comes back, just because of the yield, taste and ease of harvesting these will be on my regular planting rotation.

This thing is loaded with summer squash all of the time. It produced a soft skin delicious summer squash. My only issue was not getting enough male flowers to pollinate all of the female flowers but it still produced and abundance of squash for me and my neighbors. I only had two planted.
