Growing Information

Growing Early Boy Bush Hybrid Tomato

‘Early Boy Bush’ is an early tomato prized for its compact growth and classic garden-tomato flavor. A bush-type counterpart to ‘Early Girl,’ it produces perfectly round, bright red fruits averaging about 5 ounces with a tart, true-tomato flavor balanced by natural sweetness.

Start ‘Early Boy Bush’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 18 to 24 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Determinate plants reach about 2 feet tall, require very little support, and are resistant to Fusarium Wilt races 1 and 2 and Verticillium Wilt.

Ready to harvest in about 57 days, pick fruits once they reach full size and develop their mature bright red color.

Tangy, balanced, and versatile, ‘Early Boy Bush’ is an excellent choice for fresh eating, slicing, salads, and sandwiches.

King of BER!

I grew or tried to grow these this season. I added plenty of calcium into the containers at the start of the season. The plants are nice, three feet tall and loaded with tomatoes. Unfortunately, every one of them has BER. I have never lost an entire crop to BER!

Hi Warren,
We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations, and we truly appreciate your feedback. We’ve reached out to you directly to better understand the issue and work toward a resolution.
Customer satisfaction is very important to us, and we’re committed to making things right. Thank you for giving us the chance to improve. We look forward to connecting with you soon!

Not working out

I'm growing them with 8 other varieties. The seedlings are mad leggy and the true leafs are weirdly stunted. I'll try to bury the 5" stem in the bigger pots and see what happens. I use miracle grow seed starting medium and after germination have them under grow lights. All the other varietals are normal
