Silver Falls Dichondra
Growing Silver Falls Dichondra
‘Silver Falls’ is an open-pollinated dichondra prized for its cascading growth, delicate silvery-green foliage, and exceptional tolerance of warm, dry conditions. Tiny leaves cover long trailing stems, creating a soft waterfall effect that adds texture and contrast to containers and mixed plantings.
Plant ‘Silver Falls’ seeds about ⅛ inch deep and space plants 6 to 12 inches apart. Grow in full sun to partial shade. Germination typically takes 7 to 14 days. This heat- and drought-tolerant variety is well suited to containers and is also noted for good disease resistance.
Around 100 days, plants develop their mature cascading habit and full ornamental impact. Allow stems to spill over container edges or spread naturally when used as a decorative ground cover.
Graceful, silvery, and versatile, ‘Silver Falls’ is an excellent choice for hanging baskets, mixed containers, window boxes, ground covers, and ornamental foliage plantings.
