Growing Stonehead Hybrid Cabbage

‘Stonehead’ is a dependable hybrid cabbage and a 1969 All-America Selections Winner, valued for its early maturity, easy-growing nature, and uniform, solid heads. The round heads have a short core and a firm, creamy white interior with a crisp texture throughout. Widely adaptable and reliable, ‘Stonehead’ also holds well in the garden and is slow to split, giving you a little more flexibility at harvest time.

Start ‘Stonehead’ seeds indoors for transplanting, or sow directly in the garden where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ¼ to ½ inch deep, space plants about 2 feet apart, and grow in full sun. This cold-tolerant variety performs especially well in cool-season gardens.

Ready to harvest in about 67 days, the heads can be picked once they feel firm and have reached the desired size.

Crisp, mild, and versatile, ‘Stonehead’ is excellent for fresh eating, slaws, everyday cooking, and storage.

Fast germinating.

They arrived on time. I planted them the same day. They germinate in three days. I'm growing them indoors right now. It's been a month now, and they only have their first set of true leaves. They are growing very slowly. I plan to plant them outside around September 15th hope their growth picks up by then.

Germination Rate not the best.

Purchased "Stonehead" cabbage seeds as part of my order. I seeded 20 seeds, only 12 germinated, not the best germination rate for a cole crop.

The free 42 day tomato seedd

Of the 42 day tomato seeds you shared with me, I sowed all 4 seeds and only one came up. You shared seeds with a friend and they produced beautiful medium/small
sweet tomatoes. Hoping to receive seeds of the 42 day tomatoes again . Thanks
