Yolo Wonder Bell Pepper
Growing Yolo Wonder Bell Pepper
‘Yolo Wonder’ is an open-pollinated bell pepper prized for its heavy yields, thick walls, and improved garden performance. Larger than ‘California Wonder,’ its three- to four-lobed fruits mature from dark green to red on compact plants.
Start ‘Yolo Wonder’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ to ½ inch deep, space plants 12 to 18 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Dense foliage helps protect fruits from sunscald, while compact growth suits smaller gardens.
Ready to harvest in about 75 days, pick fruits green or allow them to ripen fully red.
Thick walled, productive, and versatile, ‘Yolo Wonder’ is excellent for fresh eating, stuffing, slicing, and everyday cooking.
