Growing Information

Growing Super Chili Hybrid Hot Pepper

‘Super Chili’ is an award-winning hybrid pepper and 1988 All-America Selections Winner prized for its tremendous yields and compact growth. Semi-compact plants can produce up to 300 slender, tapered, extremely hot peppers that mature from green through orange to red.

Start ‘Super Chili’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Its manageable growth makes this variety especially well suited to smaller gardens.

Ready to harvest in about 75 days, pick peppers at any stage of their color progression or allow them to mature fully red.

Hot, productive, and colorful, ‘Super Chili’ is excellent for drying, spicy everyday cooking, containers, and ornamental edible plantings.
