Growing Sugar Cube Hybrid Cantaloupe

‘Sugar Cube’ is a hybrid cantaloupe prized for its intensely sweet flavor, personal-size fruits, and smooth deep orange flesh. Coarsely netted melons deliver an impressive 14% Brix sweetness level while maintaining excellent keeping quality.

Sow ‘Sugar Cube’ directly in the garden about ½ inch deep and space plants about 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety performs especially well during warm summer conditions.

Ready to harvest in about 80 days, begin checking fruits once they reach full size and develop their mature color, aroma, and sweetness.

Exceptionally sweet, compact, and juicy, ‘Sugar Cube’ is excellent for fresh eating, individual servings, fruit salads, and summer desserts.

Lives up to its name. Just right for the two of us. Sweet with a good melon flavor and fragrance. Early and abundant.

A vine that will grow up

The height of 18" must mean when spread out on the ground. But it is a vine and will grow up. The fruit is small enough that support is not needed. Very tasty melon and I love the size. I only planted one last year (my first). This year two and with support to grow it up and maybe over.

The best

I have a lot of years of gardening and these are the best with flavor.
I am also amazed at how firm the flesh is. I hesitate to give such a good review, as the seeds will end up being sold out.
