Savanna Hybrid Mustard Green
Growing Savanna Hybrid Mustard Green
‘Savanna’ is a productive hybrid mustard green prized for its mild flavor, glossy dark green leaves, and excellent garden performance. A cross between mustard and spinach, this variety produces large leaves on upright plants while offering a gentler flavor than many traditional mustards.
Start ‘Savanna’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ¼ to ½ inch deep and space plants 6 to 12 inches apart in rows 15 to 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This variety offers excellent heat and cold tolerance, slow bolting, and good disease resistance.
Ready to harvest in about 35 days, pick leaves at the size you prefer, choosing younger growth for the most tender texture.
Mild, tender, and productive, ‘Savanna’ is excellent for fresh eating, salads, sautéing, braising, and everyday cooking.
