Growing Information

Growing Red Bull Hybrid Bell Pepper

‘Red Bull’ is a hybrid sweet bell pepper prized for its exceptional yields, extra-large fruits, and remarkably sweet flavor. Blocky, four-lobed peppers develop thick walls and a crunchy texture before ripening to a rich deep red.

Start ‘Red Bull’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. A strong canopy helps protect fruits from sunscald, and plants are noted for disease resistance.

Ready to harvest in about 87 days, pick peppers at the stage you prefer or allow them to ripen fully red for maximum sweetness.

Sweet, crunchy, and substantial, ‘Red Bull’ is excellent for stuffing, grilling, fresh eating, slicing, and everyday cooking.

"I’ve grown them before, and they develop very thick walls with a large harvest per plant. I use a high tunnel for cultivation, and they perform well indoors. I haven’t yet tried growing them outdoors."
