Growing Pot-a-Peño Jalapeño Pepper
‘Pot-a-Peño’ is an award-winning open-pollinated jalapeño and 2021 All-America Selections Winner prized for its early maturity and unique cascading growth habit. Dark green foliage, delicate flowers, and flavorful peppers combine culinary value with an attractive container display.
Start ‘Pot-a-Peño’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 12 to 18 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Its trailing habit makes this variety especially well suited to containers and hanging baskets.
Ready to harvest in about 65 days, pick peppers as they reach their mature size and preferred color stage.
Flavorful, compact, and container friendly, ‘Pot-a-Peño’ is excellent for sauces, drying, salsa, pickling, and fresh jalapeño dishes.
