Oregon Giant Snow Pea
Growing Oregon Giant Snow Pea
‘Oregon Giant’ is an open-pollinated snow pea prized for its exceptionally large pods, sweet flavor, and extended harvest quality. Broad, medium-green pods remain plump and tender on the vine longer than many traditional snow peas.
Sow ‘Oregon Giant’ directly in the garden about 1 inch deep and space plants 12 to 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun to partial shade and provide staking for the vines. This cold-tolerant variety is also noted for excellent disease resistance.
Ready to harvest in about 65 days, pick pods regularly while they remain flat to slightly filled and tender for the best eating quality.
Sweet, crisp, and substantial, ‘Oregon Giant’ is excellent for fresh eating, stir-fries, steaming, and canning.
