Growing Tidal Wave® Red Velour Hybrid Spreading Petunia

‘Tidal Wave® Red Velour’ is an award-winning hybrid petunia and 2002 All-America Selections Winner prized for its exceptional versatility, vigorous growth, and rich garden color. Its growth habit can be adjusted through spacing, allowing plants to form either a dense, mounded hedge or an expansive flowering ground cover.

Plant ‘Tidal Wave® Red Velour’ seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 12 to 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Germination typically takes 7 to 14 days. Space plants at least 12 inches apart for a dense mound about 16 to 22 inches tall, or 20 to 24 inches apart for a ground cover that can spread up to 5 feet.

Ready to bloom in about 84 days, enjoy the flowers as they open and reach their best display stage. This heat-tolerant variety provides an impressive mass of color throughout the flowering season.

Spectacular!
