Growing Information

Growing Honey 'N Pearl™ (bicolor sh2) Hybrid Sweet Corn

‘Honey 'N Pearl™’ is an award-winning hybrid sweet corn and 1988 All-America Selections Winner prized for its exceptional sweetness, tender texture, and beautiful bicolor kernels. Well-filled, cylindrical ears carry 16 to 18 rows of honey-yellow and pearly white kernels, creating a classic bicolor look with outstanding eating quality. The tall plants also hold their sweetness well after harvest, giving gardeners added flexibility when picking.

Sow ‘Honey 'N Pearl™’ directly in the garden about 1 inch deep. Space plants 2 to 3 feet apart and grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety performs well through the summer growing season.

Ready to harvest in about 78 days, begin checking the ears as they approach maturity and pick them at peak eating quality when the kernels are plump, tender, and juicy.

Sweet, tender, and flavorful, ‘Honey 'N Pearl™’ is excellent for fresh eating and canning.

Low germination

I waited until early July to make sure the ground was sufficiently warm, but very very few sprouted (sigh)
