Growing Information

Growing Gypsy Hybrid Pepper

‘Gypsy’ is a hybrid pepper prized for its early maturity, dependable yields, and extra-sweet flavor. Slightly tapered, three-lobed fruits develop a blunt end and mature from light yellow to bright red on compact plants.

Start ‘Gypsy’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 18 to 24 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Its compact growth makes this variety especially well suited to smaller gardens.

Ready to harvest in about 60 days, pick peppers at any stage from pale yellow through fully mature red.

Sweet, early, and versatile, ‘Gypsy’ is excellent for fresh eating, slicing, sautéing, and everyday cooking.
