Growing Information

Growing Escamillo Hybrid Pepper

‘Escamillo’ is an award-winning hybrid Bull’s Horn-type pepper and 2016 All-America Selections Winner prized for its beautiful golden-yellow fruits and sweet flavor. Long, tapered peppers combine distinctive appearance with excellent culinary versatility.

Start ‘Escamillo’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 24 to 36 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety performs especially well during warm summer conditions.

Ready to harvest in about 80 days, pick peppers once they reach their mature size and rich golden-yellow color.

Sweet, tender, and versatile, ‘Escamillo’ is excellent for salads, fresh eating, stuffing, sautéing, roasting, and everyday cooking.
