Growing Information

Growing Encore Hybrid Bell Pepper

‘Encore,’ formerly known as ‘Colossal Hybrid,’ is a hybrid bell pepper prized for its extra-large size, thick walls, and smooth fruit quality. Blocky peppers mature gradually from dark green to red and perform reliably even under cooler growing conditions.

Start ‘Encore’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 24 to 36 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This variety is also noted for good disease resistance.

Ready to harvest in about 70 days, pick peppers green or allow them to mature fully red depending on your preferred color and sweetness.

Large, meaty, and dependable, ‘Encore’ is excellent for fresh eating, stuffing, grilling, slicing, and everyday cooking.
