Growing Eight Ball Hybrid Zucchini Squash

‘Eight Ball’ is an award-winning summer squash and 1999 All-America Selections Winner prized for its unusual round shape and excellent kitchen versatility. Glossy dark green fruits grow to about the size of a baseball and offer tender flesh with excellent flavor.

Sow ‘Eight Ball’ directly in the garden about 1 inch deep and space plants about 4 feet apart. Grow in full sun. Compact, productive plants are well suited to containers and smaller gardens.

Ready to harvest in about 37 days, pick fruits regularly once they reach a usable size while they remain tender.

Tender, compact, and distinctive, ‘Eight Ball’ is excellent for stuffing, grilling, roasting, fresh eating, and everyday cooking.

So totally cute for little ones!

A great size to stuff for kids, or I used them for the elderly when I was a hospice chef. We're in New England, and the plants kept bearing through fall!
