Growing Dragonfly Purple Hybrid Bell Pepper

‘Dragonfly Purple’ is an award-winning bell pepper and 2022 All-America Selections Winner prized for its beautiful color, thick walls, and exceptional sweetness. Blocky, four-lobed peppers begin green, mature to a glossy deep purple, and eventually turn bright red when left on the plant.

Start ‘Dragonfly Purple’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 24 to 36 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety develops sturdy, productive plants reaching approximately 24 to 36 inches tall.

Ready to harvest in about 75 days, enjoy the peppers green, purple, or fully red depending on the color and flavor you prefer.

Sweet, juicy, and colorful, ‘Dragonfly Purple’ is excellent for fresh eating, snacking, salads, grilling, everyday cooking, and ornamental edible plantings.

Seeds germinated in three days and the rate was very high. The best looking pepper so far that I've started this year. Can't wait to get them in the ground to see what they will do. First time with this variety.

Star of the show...

This is a very nice pepper, ...and it produces. Lots of nice thick wall peppers that get their purple color early. Excellent stuffed, ...not real huge, but all over the branching plants. Star of the show last season
