Growing Information

Growing Damsel Hybrid Pink Beefsteak Tomato

‘Damsel Pink’ is a hybrid beefsteak tomato prized for its deep pink color, meaty texture, and rich old-fashioned flavor. The substantial fruits combine sweetness with a pleasant tang reminiscent of classic heirloom tomatoes, offering Brandywine-like eating quality with excellent resistance to Late Blight.

Start ‘Damsel Pink’ indoors for transplanting and provide sturdy support as the plants grow. Give vines room to develop and maintain good airflow around the foliage.

Begin harvesting ‘Damsel Pink’ once the beefsteak fruits reach their mature size and develop their characteristic deep pink color. Pick while the tomatoes are firm but fully colored for the best eating quality.

Rich, sweet, and tangy, ‘Damsel Pink’ is excellent for fresh eating, slicing, sandwiches, and salads.

New favorites

I am not easily swayed into changing my list of my top favorites. Damsel was one that I tried last year and is now at the top of my favorite list. The tomatoes are beautiful round and firm. They have very high productivity despite the poor growing conditions last year. The taste was our favorite in the garden last year. It was sweet with good tomatoe flavor. Definitely will plant this again this year!

Great germination, very vigorous grower, and great in the heat.

I am in Central FL I started these 4 weeks ago it is now 1ft and a half and it has a very thick stock and trying to flower. I love this tomato and I have very high hopes for it. Will be ordering again since it only came with 5 seeds.

Thank you
