Chinese Giant Heirloom Bell Pepper
Growing Chinese Giant Heirloom Bell Pepper
‘Chinese Giant’ is an heirloom sweet bell pepper prized for its enormous fruits, mild flavor, and thick walls. Large, tapered peppers begin green and mature to bright red on sturdy, compact plants.
Start ‘Chinese Giant’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ to ½ inch deep and space plants 18 to 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Its compact growth makes this variety especially well suited to smaller gardens.
Ready to harvest in about 90 days, pick fruits green or allow them to mature fully red for additional sweetness and color.
Mild, thick walled, and substantial, ‘Chinese Giant’ is excellent for fresh eating, stuffing, slicing, grilling, and everyday cooking.
