Carmen Hybrid Pepper
Growing Carmen Hybrid Pepper
‘Carmen’ is an award-winning hybrid Bull’s Horn-type pepper and 2006 All-America Selections Winner prized for its exceptional sweetness, early maturity, and elegant curved fruits. Peppers begin green and mature to a rich red, providing excellent flavor even in shorter growing seasons.
Start ‘Carmen’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 18 to 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety is also especially well adapted to northern climates.
Ready to harvest in about 65 days, pick peppers green or allow them to ripen fully red for their sweetest flavor.
Sweet, early, and versatile, ‘Carmen’ is excellent for roasting, fresh eating, grilling, stuffing, and everyday cooking.
