Growing Burpless Tasty Green No. 26 Hybrid Cucumber

‘Burpless Tasty Green No. 26’ is a popular hybrid cucumber prized for its mild flavor, slender fruits, and strong performance in hot, humid conditions. Long, slim cucumbers develop dark green skin with small white spines, while compact vines make this variety a great choice for smaller gardens. Resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus adds to its dependable garden performance.

Sow ‘Burpless Tasty Green No. 26’ directly in the garden about ½ inch deep. Space plants about 12 inches apart and grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety performs especially well in warm, humid climates. Provide staking or trellising to help the fruits grow straighter and stay easier to harvest.

Ready to harvest in about 66 days, begin picking the fruits once they reach a usable size while they are still firm, crisp, and tender. Harvest regularly to encourage continued production and maintain the best texture and flavor.

Mild, crisp, and refreshing, ‘Burpless Tasty Green No. 26’ is excellent for fresh eating, slicing, salads, and snacking.

grew well

The seeds on this cucumber sprouted quickly and the plants grew fast and had an abundance of flowers. The plants were about 4 foot high when the hurricane hit and completely wiped out our garden. So we saw no fruit but the plants were doing very well until disaster hit.
