The best dried variety for Latin American and Caribbean cuisine. Dwarf, compact plants with semi-runners bear profuse yields of 7 to 8 small, shiny black beans per pod. Pods are tender and crisp enough to be used as snap beans if picked early. Dense, meaty texture when dry. Grows well everywhere except the extreme North.
