Bossa Nova Hybrid Summer Squash
Growing Bossa Nova Hybrid Summer Squash
‘Bossa Nova’ is an award-winning hybrid summer squash and 2015 All-America Selections Winner prized for its sweet mild flavor and attractive mottled coloring. Contrasting dark and light green skin makes the Caserta-type fruits easy to spot at harvest, while compact plants produce earlier and longer than many comparable varieties.
Sow ‘Bossa Nova’ directly in the garden about 1 inch deep and space plants about 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Compact plants are well suited to smaller gardens and are noted for disease resistance.
Ready to harvest in about 37 days, pick fruits regularly once they reach a usable size while the flesh remains smooth and tender.
Mild, tender, and productive, ‘Bossa Nova’ is excellent for sautéing, grilling, roasting, everyday cooking, and storage.
