‘Artwork Baby’ is an award-winning hybrid broccoli and 2015 All-America Selections Winner prized for its tender stems, sweet flavor, and extended harvest period. Plants produce a central head followed by numerous side shoots, giving gardeners repeated harvests of slender broccoli spears rather than a single large head.
Start ‘Artwork Baby’ indoors about ½ inch deep for transplanting. Space plants about 18 inches apart and grow in full sun. Plants typically reach about 24 inches tall and perform best in fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture.
Ready to harvest in about 57 days, cut the central head when it reaches about 1 inch across to encourage additional side-shoot production. Continue harvesting the 8-inch spears about every five days as they reach the desired size.
Sweet, tender, and productive, ‘Artwork Baby’ is excellent for fresh eating, steaming, roasting, sautéing, and everyday cooking.
