Growing Amarillo Gold Rudbeckia

‘Amarillo Gold’ is an award-winning open-pollinated rudbeckia and 2020 All-America Selections Winner prized for its exceptionally large blooms, easy-growing nature, and long-lasting garden color. Cheerful deep yellow petals surround distinctive golden-green centers, creating striking flowers held above sturdy, deer-resistant plants. Its versatile growth makes it a beautiful choice for containers, borders, cutting gardens, and pollinator-friendly plantings.

Surface sow ‘Amarillo Gold’ seeds and space plants 12 to 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun to partial shade. Germination typically takes 7 to 14 days. This variety is well suited to containers and performs beautifully throughout the landscape.

Ready to bloom in about 105 days, enjoy the flowers as they open and reach their best display stage. The sturdy stems also make the large blooms an excellent choice for cutting and bringing indoors.

Poor germination but gorgeous flowers

I only had one plant to germinate from the packet even though I had no problem germinating other rudbeckia seeds. Flowers on the one plant were gorgeous though.

Love these Amarillo Gold blooms

Only 6 plants thrived from the seed packet - but what beauties those are turning into!

Bright yellow attention getters amidst all other flowers.

I cannot seem to find confirmation if these are hybrid seeds/plants and would like to know.

Hi Gloria, we're so glad you love the blooms! These Amarillo Gold Rudbeckia seeds are non-hybrid, so they should grow true from seed. Thanks for your feedback, and happy gardening!
