Growing Information

Growing Tasty Bites Hybrid Melon

‘Tasty Bites’ is a hybrid melon prized for its personal-size fruits, tropical aroma, and exceptionally sweet flavor. A cross between Charentais and Ananas melon types, this distinctive variety produces mostly orange-fleshed fruits, with occasional green- or white-fleshed surprises adding extra interest to the harvest.

Start ‘Tasty Bites’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ½ inch deep and space plants 3 to 4 feet apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety is also noted for good disease resistance.

Ready to harvest in about 77 days, pick the round to oval fruits once the skin develops an orange-yellow color. Fruits hold well in the field, helping extend the harvest window.

Sweet, fragrant, and tropical, ‘Tasty Bites’ is excellent for fresh eating, fruit salads, individual servings, and short-term storage.

Awesome

Seeds had a good germination rate, I only started 3 and 3 popped up :). Transplanted to the garden last week. Plants are strong and hopefully, to soon start producing.
