2004 AAS Winner. Our first-ever kabocha squash is a vivid orange-red and the most striking of any squash we offer! Kabochas are similar to buttercups but, if properly cured, among the sweetest of all squash. Very tender, bright-orange flesh is smooth, nutty, stringless and sweet and perfect for baking, mashing or pies. Slightly flattened, globe-shaped fruits on vigorous, short vines with a wide spread. Perhaps the best eating quality of any winter squash.

Love Sunshine Kabocha!

Never grew kabochas before nor pumpkins. This kabocha is a sweet 5-8" mini like pumpkin. Despite people telling me that I couldn't trellis them, they did great on it! Quite helpful in a small spaced garden! I did support the heavier fruit with a crocheted netting. Great meaty sweet fruit! Good for soup, cookies, & pies! Love them and will definitely plant them again!

The seeds look fine.

I really can't review seeds. I'll know in May.

Pumpkin Squash

Just planted these seeds and am excited to get fruit

I love growing and eating pumpkin - roasted with simply olive oil and salt - no brown sugar! Try it, it's easy and delicious

The extra pumpkins I carve for Halloween

Unfortunately, my spouse does not like pumpkin flavor

Happy to see a delicious eating squash that can also be carved as a bright orange jack-o-lantern

truly a keeper

I didn't grow these but I've just eaten one grown nearby in the PNW and they are SO good - dry and definitely the sweetest I've ever had. I roasted unpeeled 1" wedges for 30mins after brushing both sides with olive oil then sea salted and cracked peppered liberally. Phenomenal - thank you! Saving these seeds for life : )
